(WASHINGTON, DC) March 5, 2020 – Today, the Connected Health Initiative (CHI) released a statement from executive director Morgan Reed regarding new rules on health data interoperability and information blocking unveiled by the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) and Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS):
“The new health data interoperability and information blocking rules from ONC and CMS, usher in a new era in healthcare where patients are finally put in control of their health information, and finally unleash the app economy’s innovation and efficiencies to healthcare.
